Organic wood polish

Nothing says elegance like the mirror finish on a nice piece of wooden furniture it truly becomes the center piece of any room. Weather it is a dinning table, china cabinet, an old bench etc. Basically if it is wood it needs to be shinny, maybe it is just me but I doubt it :) . Keeping your wood furniture shinny, clean, and  healthy is really quite simple and does not require a $5 spray can.

Here is my recipe for shinny health wood furniture. You will need the following ingredients:

  • Olive oil
  • White distilled vinegar
  • Essential oil
  • Funnel
  • Spray bottle

All you do is mix 3 parts olive oil and 1 part of vinegar with your favorite essential oil scent (I prefer lemon reminds me of pledge). You can put as many drops as you like. It all depends on how strong you like the smell. This polish will not only help keep your furniture nice, bright and polished but it has no toxic chemicals that can affect you or your family.

Having tried several variations from different ingredients that I have mixed together. I have to say that this is one of my top favorite to use on my furniture at home.

The combination of these ingredients just seem to work better on my furniture. The vinegar works as a cleaning agent, while the olive oil conditions and nourishes the wood leaving a beautiful matte finish look to your furniture.  It will also help with light water stain marks and definitely helps with old dried out looking wood. This recipe will provide a dark healthy shine other oils maybe used to alter color.

I always recommend applying to a small hidden spot to ensure you like the color on your particular wood and adjust till you find the recipe that best matches your vision.
